Battery Safe containers provide a secure, certified solution for storing, transporting and handling lithium-ion batteries. Designed and manufactured in the UK, and independently tested to UN standards for transportation, they offer proven protection for ALL TYPES of batteries, at ALL STAGES.

Independently tested and certified:
  • UN Chapter 6.1 for dangerous goods transport

  • UN LP906 (damaged, defective and prototype batteries)

  • ADR – road transport

  • RID – rail transport

  • IMDG Code – maritime transport

Performance & Certifications

Performance criteria met:
  • External temperature remains below 100°C

  • No flames escape

  • No projectiles escape

  • Structural integrity maintained throughout the event

  • Gas management prevents hazardous pressure levels

All testing is conducted at UKAS-accredited laboratories and certified by the UK Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA).

  • Provides over 24 hours of fire resistance, containing heat and combustion products throughout the burn

  • Thermo-expanding seals that close ventilation gaps when exposed to fire

  • Controlled venting system that safely manages gas release during an incident

How it works

Thermal runaway generates extreme heat, rapidly expanding gases, projectiles and flames. Battery Safe containers are engineered to manage each of these challenges:

Gas management and deflagration venting prevents pressure build-up
Thermo-expanding seals activate under high temperatures
Triple-layer steel and insulation structure absorbs and contains heat
Intumescent channels expand rapidly suppressing any flame escape.
